Ok, I just want to come out here and say it, the IPhone 16e is useless and shouldn't have existed.
When I first saw it come out I believed the thing was a better IPhone mini which I absolutely love and miss (I used to have an Iphone 12 mini before my now Iphone 15 pro). What I enjoyed about the mini was the size because I have tiny hands, adn the functionality with the 0.5x camera option and was able to keep up with newer updates. However, I switched cause it was a Christmas present from my family and I couldn't say no to that. Anywho, if I could turn back time I would keep my 12 mini now and just change the battery which is cheaper, or just buying a reused phone on Back Market. Which is something people should do instead of buying the Iphone 16e.
I watched the Marques Brownlee video on this phone and he made some good points that I agree with. The smallest price of this phone is $599 in the US for including 128 gb of storage. Which, I think, is insane cause this phone doesnt have 0.5x lens option but it has that new chip that Apple made. I think this phone was better off without it because an asking price for a device that essentailly means youre "down-grading" compared to other phones is crazy! Even when you compare prices on the website, the options to compare is the iphone 11, 12, 12 mini, adn SE. Apple's intentions with this phone is that you buy a newer, expensive version of a glorified iphone xr.
The body design is reminiscent of the Iphone XR which is iconic cause I remember when the XR came out and everyone in my high school started popping out with that phone when I had my Iphone 8 plus.

Also, Marqeus asked the important question: who is this for? If it was for people who want an Iphone but not drop $800-$1000 dollars on a single device, then this phone is probably not for you cause its cheaper to just change the battry. if you want a phone that can handle everyday, casual use and you want that sweet sweet apple cred then this phone is also not for you cause who gives a shit about this phone. you'd probably get a pro or pro max. If you're a parent and giving your kid a phone for the first time you'd probably give your old phone to them or get them the standard, regular Iphone. I;m seriously confused why apple thought this was a good idea.
Another element I am hating on is the elimination of mini's for the plus size phones cause people were not buying mini's. And then, people were NOT BUYING THE PLUS ONES, so why get rid of the mini's? I think this is a weird experiment phase where they are trying to make more affordable models for casual users but then why put the newest, expensive chip in this phone? Why not the chip from the Iphone 14 or some shit, this doesn't make any sense?
