Cute Hello Kitty 7

I prefer movies over shows but lately I have been into many forms of film so heres what I watched so far

Leap year

★★★★★
watched | July 2024

Simple slice-of-life, adventures movies with the main character(s) going on a wild adventure to meet their end goal is a lost genre; for instance, the Hangover series, Leap Year, Wedding Crashers, even Super Bad. Something about these movies with adventures with relatable - however exaggerated- not great circumstances has a special place in my heart.

I just realized as I'm watching this for the third time, but she went to Ireland to propose to her boyfriend cause it's an Irish tradition - forget if it's in her family - but she keeps not believing the Irish "don't travel on Sundays", like how long have y'all been in that damn house that you didn't make it past Sunday?? Also, like ur boyfriend can wait another day girl, ur already late just hang with Declan omg. Follow traditions or don't, it's odd how her character's whole reason to go to Ireland was to get closer to her roots and bring that culture into her personal relationship even if her boyfriend isn't from Ireland.

OMG the absolute beauty of location! it's so romantic just like these two; the banter, the ring reveal, the fact she ran off from the restaurant cause she thought she was rejected. like girl too cause if someone ran off after i confessed i would also think they rejected me. ugh i love this movie even it's small flaws here and there but come on, what's not to love about a cute, simple romance ૮ ˶ᵔ ᵕ ᵔ˶ ა ugh my heart is full, and i feel so emotionally light. good thing about movies like these; movies with sweet non-dramatic happy endings; is i don't need more cause i feel so satisfied just enjoying what is right in front of me. (˶˃ ᵕ ˂˶) .ᐟ.ᐟ

Thank you to my most beautiful, wonderful, smartest friend Anna for showing this movie to me. As long as I watch and know of this movie, I will remember you ♡

Much Ado About Nothing

★★★★☆

I started watching this casue of Robert Sean Leonard cause I love his character in House MD, but this movie's cast is fucking STACKED starring Emma Thompson (queen shit), Keanu Reeves (king shit), Robert Sean Leonard (90's heart-throb), Kate Beckinsale, and goddamn Denzel Washington (˚0˚)! Robert plays a prince in this movie and he looks like a literal prince ( ’з`)ノ⌒♥*:・。.

The cinematography; shots, movement of the camera, and color grading remind me of plays. The lights are bright even in dark settings throughout the movie, and the emotions are exaggerted to 100%. The dialogue is kinda hard to understand since the script is striclty in old english. I appreacite that the movie creatives stuck to the source, but this movie may not be my cup of tea cause plays like live-theater are not for me. I feel like I would have enjoyed the live theater version of this compared to this movie adaptation

Shakespeare is truly a drama queen. This movie is so cute and so overly dramatic, I love it :) I think this is a nice comfort movie

Django Unchained

★★★★★★★★★
Watched | February 2025

I have actually seen this movie nearly 5 times. It has become a comofrt movie of mine because of the sheer amount of comedic blood splashes and the unapologetic western-ness of this movie. Or maybe because the fantasy of getting back at white supremicists, or maybe the cast is absolutely amazing with jamie Foxx, Christoph Waltz, and Samuel L Jackson. The western genre has taken my heart, I do adore some western movies and this one defintely takes the cake.

Christoph Waltz character, Dr. King Schultz, is such a likeable but scary character. He's so kind to Django since they first met since, he's not racist, but knowing that he's a hitman adds fear to his character; a nice person not afraid to kill is an amazing character and i wished i saw more characters as unhinged in other films. The concept of this film, I think, is not the most special theme compared to other Tarantino works but the character's personalities are what makes this movie. Seeing Django's character development is what makes this movie so fun and I always come back :)

Companion

I initially saw a movie scene from a reel and didn't think much of it so I watched this movie with no expectations except knowing it had sci-fi elements to it. But being a blank canvas and watching this, I think, it was made the movie pretty good. I think the "horror" tag under this movie is misleading, but the "thriller" tag interprets this movie perfectly. The horror is mostly the abomination of the two protag's relationship; him being a controling incel and her being programmed to always love him no matter what; being a reflection of abusive relationships which was subtle at first but then you really see the theme towards the end. The message is pretty relavent today and the depiction of abuse can be jarring especailly when they get into a bloody fight towards the end, it can be a little much.

The movie's progression felt smooth and the storyline made more sense as we saw the character's development overtime. The murders too weren't bad, like I did not have to close my eyes because I'm not good with body gore stuff, but it was just like "OOOOOH DAMN" momnents like when the robot accidently broke his hand and stuff like that. Overall this movie is pretty good, but I wouldn't watch again unless someone wanted to watch with me.

Usotoki Rhetoric

★★★☆☆
Watched | idk 2024

I watched this randomly cause of the actor Suzuka Ouji, and I enjoy the stuff that he is in. I don't have a lot to say about the show besides that it is comfortable to watch. The show itself is not romantic - there is a cliff hanger that the FL started having feeling for the ML - but moremystery and family-friendly is all I can say.

The show is cute and so are the interactions between the two main leads are cute and palitable.

Cinderella

★★★★★
Watched | April 2025

I heard of this movie from a youtube video about mix race couples in media. The youtuber specifically mentioned how majority of mix race couples depicted in cinema have one partner being white, mostly a white man. Not wrong for white people to date outside of white people but majority of movies and shows are not POC's with other POC's. Rodgers & Hammerstein's Cinderella from 1997 is pretty special to me cause not only is cinderella and prince charming POC's but also freaking Whitney Houston is in this movie, and she helped out with production and the music in the movie.

The sets for this movie are absolutely Disney coded :) which makes sense cause Disney and freaking Whitney Houston worked together for the sets and music. I would absolutely watch this movie again because I love love movies, and I have probably found my new comfort movie for life (ノ´ з `)ノ♡

Hannibal

Season 1

★★★★☆
Dropped | idk 2024

At first I enjoyed this series cause the deterioration of the main character, Will's, psychy cause of the cannibal therapist, Hannibal, is an interesting and horrific story. I thought my friend and I would finish this but we didn't. Probably cause we eventually took three week breaks in between each episode adn decided to watch Severence instead. None-the-less, I love the premiss of a serial killer therapist taking over the FBI with manipulation and sex (at least in season whatever like 2?)

Also the homoerotic relationship between Hannibal and Will was not something I clocked until later on in season 1 and even my friend had to ask if I noticed which i kinda did but my gay-dar is terrible. I can't tell age or time sometimes so why would I clock gay-ness? Anyone, like the plot but didn't end up finihsing cause I did give up.

Billy Elliot

★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★
Watched | idk 2022?

If you're reading this, exit this website and watch this movie. I can't say anything else besides the fact that I cried multiple times (almost gagged even). The feeling of wanting to belong and feel loved from the people around you; people you trust and people you call friends and family. Even having internal hatred and confusion as to who you are is a feeling to familiar to me. Even at the riping age of 22 (rn) I have yet to 100% figure out I am.

Now that I am writing this I am going to re-watch this movie. Please watch if you are reading this, highly recommend.

Flying Colors

★★★★☆
Watched | sometime in 2023?

I do like this movie cause its the message "dont just a book by its cover", but similarly to Billy Elliot, its a young woman that does not know what she wants to do after High School but finds out what she wants to do after studying for her future. Sometimes I am stuck in the present and not thinking about my future too much, and this movie reminds me that there si a future besides where I am right now and that if I want to change I can, and if I wanted to change I would.

I took a star off cause she was so cute in the beginning; her outfits and makeup resembled the gyaru aesthetic; and dont get me wrong she's cute in the end too, but I dont think you have to change your appearance when maturing but I guess the outfit changing to a boring pallete, no pattern, office aesthetic shows that she is maturing.

Rivals
Season 1

Watched | sometime in 2024

I initially watched this movie cause of a yt vid that showed a couple in the show, but I stayed for the drama. Although, there were a few things that would have left me dropping this show if it wasnt for the amazing everything.

First off, the character's mental breakdowns stayed true to each character. Peggy's reactions to something emotional was not the same as Tony. Everytime a character reacted I kept thinking "ye this is something they probably would do", which is a total plus especially from shows. There is only a season 1, with a season 2 announced, but I cant wait to see the new character progressions in this show. The drama though...

Not that the drama didn't make any sense or was lackluster; I just don't care about the production of tv and hte struggles of being a director or being on tv, I just cant relate as an architecture studdent, it's not something I think about often. However, most of the characters problems in this how is based on their relationships wiht one another. God someone take Peggy's mom off this fucking show. I have never seen a hornier mom-character in my life and I hope this is the last time. Peggy's character is my fave mostly b/c she is rational, sometimes the only one that is rational. I still cant wrap m y head around why Rupert would sleep with Cameron FOR DAYS to just get info [???]. AND he did it when he has feeling for Peggy!

Anyways, Declan > Rupert(_ε_)

The Last of Us
Season 1

★★★★★★★★★★★★★
Watched | sometime in 2024

I have not played the Last of Us games but I have watched some gameplays when it trended liek three years ago but I genuinely enjoyed the progression of Elle and Joel's relationship. The father-and-daughter duo has become my favorite character relationship type thing in films. Very few mediums use this character progression because it can come off as creepy or can change into something innappropriate later on, but knowing the storyline of the game I'm glad Elle adn Joel's relationship dont turn away from the fact that Joel's trama of losing his own daughter has turn him into a wonderful guardian for Elle who never experienced genuine love from an adult growing up.

I am so happy that this series was picked up by HBO Max and not Netflix or some shit. I cannot imagine this beaut of a show turned into Netflix-shmuck; cheap and fast quality is something Netflix would do, and then when people complain about it then they cancel a second season. Anywho, abosltuely love this series and would defintely watch again before season 2 comes out XD

The Amazing World of Gumball

I practically grew up with Gumball! I absolutely love this show and the increasinly chaotic dynamic between all teh family memebers. My childhood was mostly with family since I was a quiuet kid, and my house would be chaotic although not as much as this show. I would list ym favorite episdeos and what seasons I recommend but this would be long so never mind. I jsut recommend everything about this show.

The Pitt
Season 1

Watched | April 2025

Everyone has said how amazing this show is artistically and the mental health awareness of each character. I'm loving how each episode is an hour of ONE shift. The other artistically unique part of this show is how non-cinematic this show is. The lighting seems natural for a hospital and there are no crazy cuts to each scene- ok honestly my brain is not working, just watch the damn show its GOOD in caps.

RRR

This movie is nearly 3 hours long, and it wastes no seconds telling the amazing story of these two. I seriously appreaaciate how much of a brother-hood movie this is. Seeing the journey of their relaionship and the ultimate betrayle later on is just heartwrenching! Even though I know the ending through and through I still get chills around 2:44:50!

One thing about Indian films that I love is the representation of gods, and this movie presents that with the two main characters representing fire and water. Two competing opoosite that attract to one another; whenever the characters feel bad I genuinely feel the same too! I just absolutely love the platonic energy coming from these two, and of course the side plot of the main character and the british girl, but the romance does not take away from the main storyline of the two guys becoming friends, and fucking up the british!

Children of Men

★★★★★★★★★★★★★
Watched | 5.15.25

There are so many aspects as to why I love this movie. The storyline actually makes sense, sort of, because there are countries that have less babies everyyear like Japan which has a national average of 0.2 babies per couple. For a country to be stable per family/ couple needs ~2 childern. This movie's stresses the need for children and the importance of life mixing multiple socio-political themes with birth and anew. Hopefully this makes sense since I'm trying to not spoil the movie, but the stressful situations the characters are put in wrap around the overall concept perfecly. There was no time in the movie where I noticed it was a movie. I was on my toes this entire movie!

If there was a movie I def recommended it has to be this one (。>‿‿<。 )

This movie was so giving 2000's romcom's! The wholesome romance between the two characters was so believable, especially the scene where it's just them in his apartment; actually so cute! This movie wasnt made to be Oscar winner, but a fun summer movie that is cute and fun! It didnt try to be something beyond that, and I love the wholesome vibe of the movie even with all the blood and gun violence.

Game of Thrones

★★★★★★★★★★★
Watched | summer-ish of 2024

Even with the controversal ending of season 8, I love the character development, the story, the design of the setting and characters. This show felt so rich with hsitory and fantasy with a tinge of chaos.

[spoiler] I will say, the incest scenes were really something and I just could not take it. I watched it with my roommate which made the experience way more awkward. And, the sad but iconic moment of silence of Cersei's last son, Prince Tommen, just jumped off the castle was insane and sometimes when I watch a film and it makes me think creativity in the feild is dead, I watch this scene. The silence after the explosion leading up to him just doing it was crazy crazy.
